Mahmud Hadeja, Coordinator of Nigeria Beach Soccer League and President, Africa Beach Soccer Union has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to resume the Super Sand Eagles.
Hadeja who spoke to Journalists in Nnewi during the Nigeria Beach Soccer League, said Nigeria ran the fastest growing Beach Soccer League in the world at the moment with great improvement in the technical ability of players and officials.
He said FIFA Beach Soccer World would arrive in Africa 2025 and Nigeria had the opportunity to be part of the Beach Soccer AFCON Cup later this year.
“The registration is on now, it is left for the NFF and all of us to come together to reward these players for what they have been doing in the last four years.
“I want to use this opportunity to once again, call on the Nigeria Football Federation to look in the direction of this game and resume the Super Sand Eagles so that we can compete in Africa and other international competitions,” he said
Hadeja congratulated the Anambra Beach Soccer Association led by Prof. Victor Madubuko for the successful hosting of the second round of the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League.
He said that was the first time the Beach Soccer League was staged in the Southeast adding that they hosted well.
The Beach Soccer administrator urged the Anambra governnent to leverage the efforts of the Beach Soccer Association which he said had done bulk of the work by introducing the game.
“I want to thank God for this great opportunity of hosting the second round of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League, I commend the association for the good job they hosted well and the entire people of Anambra showed shown massive support for this game.
“Kaduna and Kebbi states have already embraced it and as I am talking to you Kaduna has the best beach soccer stadium in Nigeria while Kebbi has the best ranked beach soccer team in Africa,” he said.
