Solution Football Club of Anambra State on Saturday, 30th March 2024 emerged champions of the 2024 Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup.
The Solution Boys who play in the second tier of Nigerian club football, the Nigeria National League (NNL) defeated Edel FC by a lone goal scored by Chuddy Joseph Onyeka in the 7th minute of the encounter through a trademark free kick in a match played at the Neros Sports Stadium Nanka, Anambra State.
Solution FC on their way to the final match defeated defending champions, Ozalla Football Academy of Obosi by a lone goal after obliterating Blacksmithers FC of Awka by four goals to one in the quarter finals.
The Solution Boys for getting to the finals will represent Anambra State at the upcoming Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) 2024 Federations Cup.
The NNL side will smile home with the sum of N2million as the grand prize from the sponsor and CEO of Neros Pharmaceuticals Company, Prof. Poly Emenike.
Neros Pharmaceuticals Ltd have bankrolled the Anambra FA Cup for 16 years till now with the winner usually going home with N2million, while the second and third placed teams smiles home with the N1million and N500,000 respectively.
Earlier in the third and fourth placed playoffs, Peace FC of Awka defeated Ozalla FA by two goals to one.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion were the representative of the sponsor, Sir Victor Nwangwu and the board of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) led by Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi alongside the Vice-Chair, Sir Victor Aniekwena and Mrs Cordelia Akanna as well as the NFF Disciplinary Committee Chairperson, Barr. Jude Obikwelu.
