MFM Women’s Basketball Club has booked a place in the final of the Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League after defeating Nigeria Customs in a thrilling semifinal at the National Stadium, Lagos.
The Yaba side maintains its unbeaten run with a 64-61 victory to set up a final showdown against First Bank.

MFM starts on a rampage, dominating the first quarter 22-11, but loses steam in the second quarter as Customs mounts pressure to reduce the gap to 35-34 at halftime. The two-time national champions, however, regain control in the third and fourth quarters to secure the win.
Captain Okoh Ukamaka describes the encounter as triple-A standard and expresses delight at the team’s performance.

First Bank picks the second final ticket after subduing a resilient Aso Sky Queens 61-57, setting up one of the most anticipated finals of the season.
Ukamaka also appreciates the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and his wife, for their unwavering support to the team.
She says the club’s success goes beyond efforts on the court, crediting the number one sponsor for the consistent financial backing.

According to her, players receive salaries as and when due, which they use to support their families and pay school fees and other educational expenses for those still in school.
She adds that the club provides extensive welfare beyond salaries, including free feeding and comfortable accommodation at the MFM Prayer City camp, which serves as a home away from home.

On behalf of her teammates, she thanks the church and prays for God’s blessings upon the sponsors, promising to make them proud.
With 18 games won unbeaten this season, Ukamaka says the team is determined to retain the title and finish the campaign undefeated.
