The Board of Enyimba Football Club on Wednesday visited the team in Aba to boost morale ahead of Sunday’s home fixture against Inter Lagos.
It was the board’s first meeting with the players this season, and their presence alongside Chairman, Kanu Nwankwo, lifted the spirit in camp.
The People’s Elephant have played two away games so far this season — against Niger Tornadoes in Minna and Doma United in Gombe — and now face a crucial home tie where they will be hunting for their first win of the campaign.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Vice Chairman, Captain Eric Iheanacho Asogwa, assured the players of total backing for the team and the chairman.
“Our Chairman is a man of peace. We are here to support him and to support the club as well. Many people are looking up to you, including younger ones. Enyimba should win the league this season. We are here to promise you our support,” Asogwa said.
“I am telling you that the Chairman, the Board and all the administrative crew are behind you. We have decided to support this team. We are working as a team under the leadership of the Chairman.”
Enyimba will host Inter Lagos on Sunday at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba, in search of their first three points of the season.
