Abakaliki FC and Flight FC will lock horns on Wednesday for the title at the 8th Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament.
The final is set for St. Patrick’s College, Emene, near Enugu, on August 12, 2026.
The week-long competition brought together 16 teams and served as a key warm-up for clubs ahead of the new season.
Abakaliki FC, an NNL side, booked their final spot with a 2-0 victory over Rangers U-19 team in the semifinals. Flight FC of Gboko, Benue State, who play in the NLO, advanced after a 0-0 draw with Ingas FC, winning 3-2 on penalties.
The champions will lift the trophy and get medals, with the runners-up also receiving medals.
Individual honors for Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, and MVP will be handed out as well.
Tournament CEO Ifeanyi Ekwueme said plans are in place for a grand finale.
“We thank God for getting to this stage. A lot of work went into it, and we expect Wednesday to be a fitting end,” he said.
