The Chairman of the Oyo State Football Association (OYSFA), HRM Oba James Oluyemi Odeniran, has signalled his readiness to contest for the South-West slot on the Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), promising to bring his wealth of experience, leadership capacity and passion for grassroots football to the national football governing body.
Oba Odeniran, who has continued to provide leadership for football administration in Oyo State, is positioning his aspiration as a call to strengthen the voice and representation of the South-West in the affairs of Nigerian football.
According to the football administrator, the time has come for the South-West to have strong and purposeful representation at the NFF Board—one that will prioritise the collective interests of the zone while contributing meaningfully to the development of football across Nigeria.
His aspiration is anchored on experience, dedication, development and unity, with particular emphasis on grassroots football, youth development, better football administration and stronger collaboration among the various stakeholders in the game.
A VOICE FOR THE SOUTH-WEST
The Oyo FA Chairman believes that the South-West occupies a strategic position in Nigerian football and deserves effective representation capable of articulating the aspirations of the region before the NFF.
The former FIFA badged referee proposed approach is expected to focus on building bridges among Football Associations, clubs, players, coaches, supporters, referees, administrators, sponsors, government and other stakeholders.
