El-Kanemi Warriors FC has extended sympathy and solidarity to Rivers United following a road accident involving the Port Harcourt club’s contingent en route to Awka for a President Federation Cup match.

In an official statement signed by Media Officer, Aliyu Mustapha Gaga, the Maiduguri-based club said it was relieved there were no fatalities from the incident.

“We are grateful to learn that there were no fatalities and that those affected are receiving medical attention and remain in stable condition,” the statement read.

El-Kanemi Warriors said the health, safety, and well-being of players, officials, and all members of the football family remain paramount. The club added that management, technical crew, players, and supporters stand in solidarity with Rivers United during the challenging moment.

“We pray for the quick recovery of all injured players and officials and wish the club strength as they navigate the situation,” Gaga stated.

The club also noted that the entire Nigerian football community is united in wishing Rivers United FC a safe recovery and a swift return to normal activities.

Rivers United were traveling to Awka for their President Federation Cup fixture when the accident occurred.
