SWAN Anambra’s first monthly Fitness Walk hit the streets of Awka, with members turning out in force at Emeka Anyaoku Boulevard.

The energetic walk was a hit, setting the tone for future fitness fun

The monthly Fitness Walk holds on the last Saturday of every month

Speaking after the Walk, Chimezie Anaso, Chairman of the Chapter said the Monthly Fitness Walk was aimed at encouraging members to pay attention to their physical wellbeing.

Anaso said as lovers and promoters of sports through journalism, members of SWAN should engage in regular exercise to boost their physical health and mental alertness.

“Today, we started our Monthly Fitness Walk as a group, this is to encourage our members and other members of the public to engage in fitness exercise.

“It was a very successful outing and I want to commend SWAN members in Anambra for their impressive turnout on this maiden occasion and I am hopeful it will get better.

“It is not just about members of SWAN, it is open members of the public, we are only leading the exercise,” he said.

Anaso said the Monthly Fitness Walk and Exercise was open to partnership and collaboration with public sector players and corporate organisations.
