There is a wave of reports in social media and some traditional media outlets that Victor Osimhen from the streets of Nigeria to owning a football club in Turkey.
One X account under the name Topskills Sports UK trended with the claim. The claim is presented as ” Breaking News”
It is reported that Victor Osimhen is set to acquire Istanbulspor. The report said the vision behind the acquisition is to create a Nigeria–Turkey serving as a hub to develop young African talents and change young lives forever.
The report attracted online reactions, clicks and engagements. As a result of the popularity of the super star, Victor Osimhen, the same post was made on different platforms.
Checks show that these reports haven’t been officially confirmed by Osimhen or Istanbulspor. The club’s president, Ecmel Faik Sarıalioğlu, said they’ve not received any official confirmation.
Also a source close to Osimhen dismissed the rumors as “very fake and false”.
