The Anambra State Police Command has stepped into the shocking murder of the President General of the Ogidi community, Chief Ikwuka Okoye and one other unnamed person.

The unfortunate incident according to statement from the Anambra State Police command occurred Friday evening 6th February 2026 at the School Field, Ogidi

The information made available to journalists in the State allegedly linked the assassination to the recent capture and killing of an alleged notorious cultist known well within Ogidi and environs simply as “Emma Amasco”.

Police detectives had swiftly took over the scene of the incident and commenced investigations the moment the information circulated Friday night.

The Command according to official statement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the detectives were already working with eyewitnesses and other available intelligence reports to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

The Command assures the public that all efforts were being intensified to bring those responsible to justice.

Residents were therefore urged to remain calm and cooperate with the police as investigations continue.

Ikenga assured that further developments would be communicated to the public in due course.

Witnesses described Amasco as a popular man in the area and lead hitman for a named killer cult group.

That his cult was responsible for the killing of the PG, giving away hint that a cult gang warfare would follow soon to try to avenge the killings.
