‎NIS Boss  Backs Super Eagles For Bronze Medal Win

The National Institute for Sports (NIS) Director-General H.E. Comrade Philip Shaibu has charged the players and officials of the Super Eagles to put the semifinal 4-2 penalty shootout loss against the Atlas Lions of Morocco behind them and focus on today’s bronze medal match against Egypt.
‎
‎The Chief Executive Officer who praised their performance said the players gave their best against the match officials, the crowd and the hosts.
‎
‎He advised that preparation for the next Africa Cup of Nations and world cup starts immediately .
‎
‎The former deputy governor of Edo State
advised that the super Eagles Head coach, Eric Chelle should remain as there is need for continuity.
‎
‎He opined that this is not the time to change coach believing Coach Eric Chelle should be allowed to remain and lead the Eagles to the 2027 edition of the Afcon to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
‎
‎The 3-time champions, Nigeria will face record 7-time winners, Egypt in the third place match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations at the Stade Mohammed V by 5pm Nigerian time..
