The Vengary Sports Centre, in partnership with Kolmani Sports Academy, has awarded the Vengary Best Sports Manager Award to Patrick Pascal, Chairman of the Bauchi State Football Association, for his exceptional contributions to football development in Bauchi State and across Nigeria.

Pascal, a former Super Eagles midfielder, remains one of Nigeria’s most respected football figures, admired for his impact both on and off the pitch. A member of Nigeria’s historic 1996 Olympic gold-winning team, he was celebrated during his playing days for his discipline, work ethic, and leadership.

Following retirement, Pascal transitioned into football administration, serving notably as the Super Eagles’ Team Coordinator, where his organisational strength and commitment to unity greatly shaped the national team. His dedication to youth development and football management continues to earn him national admiration.

Patrick Pascal’s football journey began in 1992 with Wikki Tourists, before moving to Shooting Stars FC, where he scored 43 goals in 103 appearances. In 1996, he joined Turkish side Gençlerbirliği Ankara, later signing for Altay Izmir, scoring 20 goals in 45 matches to help lift the club from relegation. Between 2000 and 2002, he played for Royal Antwerp in Belgium and later Lifan FC in China, before retiring.

After his playing career, Pascal became the Team Manager of Wikki Tourists, Vice Chairman and later Chairman of Wikki Tourists FC while serving as Special Assistant on Youths to Bauchi State Government under Adamu Muazu. He was also the Special Assistant on Youth Development to the then NFF president Aminu Maigari. He has held key administrative roles including Vice-Chairman of Bauchi FA, member of the NFF Electoral Committee, member, Players status committee, member NFF Youth Football Development Committee and membership in the NFF Technical Committee under Amaju Pinnick.

He currently serves as the Coordinator of the Super Eagles and Chairman of the Bauchi State Football Association. Patrick holds two MON National Awards, and have a street named after him.

The award, organisers said, celebrates Pascal’s unwavering passion, service, and commitment to nurturing the next generation of Nigerian football talent.
