.…Strength, Service, And Sportsmanship On Display

Osun State will come alive this October as it hosts the Osun Military Paramilitary Games 2025 (OMPG 2025), a landmark sporting festival running from October 15th to October 29th, 2025, across several venues in the State.

The Games will bring together some of Nigeria’s most distinguished uniformed services in a celebration of discipline, resilience, teamwork, and athletic talent within an atmosphere of healthy competition.

Participating in this year’s edition are the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Police Force, Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), the Amotekun Corps and more.

This remarkable gathering of security and service organizations highlights the unifying power of sports. It provides a platform where the values of service and sacrifice meet the ideals of fair play, determination, and camaraderie.

The 2025 Games will feature a thrilling lineup of twelve sporting events, from football, volleyball, and athletics to indoor games such as table tennis,, and chess. Traditional contests including tug of war, relay races, and cultural showcases will further add to the excitement.

More than a competition, OMPG 2025 will also serve as a vibrant cultural festival, with music, dance, and displays of Osun’s rich heritage, creating opportunities for citizens to celebrate and engage with the men and women who protect their communities.

At its core, the Games are designed not only to test physical skill but to strengthen bonds among Nigeria’s security and paramilitary organizations. It reinforces trust, teamwork, and collaboration—values just as vital on the sports field as they are in national service.

Mr. Olufemi Bankefa, Chairman of the Osun Sports Officers Association, emphasized this vision:

“The Osun Military Paramilitary Games is far more than a contest of strength and skill. It is a celebration of our shared commitment to service and unity. When soldiers, officers, and service men and women come together in this environment, barriers are broken, friendships are forged, and bonds of trust are strengthened. This year’s edition will remind us all that sports has the power to unite and inspire while deepening the spirit of patriotism in every participant.”

As the official organizing partner, Ace Sports is working hand-in-hand with stakeholders to deliver a world-class event.

Olayiwola Olafiranye, Chief Executive Officer of Ace Sports, explained:

“We are proud to be leading the organizational backbone of OMPG 2025.

Our goal is to ensure that every aspect, from fixtures and facilities to athlete welfare and fan experience, meets the highest standard.”

Reflecting further on the wider impact, Olayinka Olawole, Chief Operating Officer of Ace Sports, added: “Our approach goes beyond organizing a tournament; we are building a legacy. Through OMPG 2025, young people across Osun will see role models in uniform who inspire discipline and resilience. The Games will also drive grassroots sports, boost tourism, and stimulate economic activity across the State.

This is a celebration of both service and society, and Ace Sports is committed to ensuring that every detail reflects this broader vision.”

The Osun Military Paramilitary Games 2025 promises to showcase Osun as a hub of peace, culture, and sporting excellence.
For two weeks, the people of Osun will witness the discipline, strength, and teamwork of Nigeria’s uniformed services, this time, not in the line of duty, but on the sports field, in the spirit of unity, friendship, and fair competition.
