University Workers’ Cooperative Society, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Gets New Electoral Committee

The University Workers (Awka) Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, has appointed a seven-member electoral committee to oversee the upcoming elections of the Society.

The committee appointed during the adjourned meeting of the society held at the Multipurpose Hall on Thursday 18 September chaired by Brother Nwachukwu Obiakor, has been tasked with ensuring a free, fair, and credible electoral process.

Other members of the committee are John Eduno, Njideka Anika , Chris Ekogba, Chinedu Ikenta, Chioma Ugochukwu (Secretary), and Chidiogo Ezenwafor.

During their inauguration, the Chairman of the society, Mr. Emeka Egwuatu, charged the committee members to conduct themselves in a manner that would guarantee the integrity of the electoral process.

He urged them to do the needful and live up to the expectations of the society’s members.

In response, the Chairman of the electoral committee, Brother Nwachukwu Obiakor, assured Mr. Egwuatu and the entire membership of the society that the committee would do its best to deliver a credible election.

He expressed the committee’s determination to ensure that the electoral process is transparent, fair, and reflective of the wishes of the members.

The appointment of the electoral committee is a significant step towards strengthening the democratic processes within the cooperative society.

The University Workers (Awka) Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited has consistently emphasized the importance of good governance and member participation in its activities. With the electoral committee in place, members can look forward to a peaceful and credible election that will usher in new leaders to guide the society.

The society’s commitment to democratic principles and member welfare is expected to further enhance its reputation as a model cooperative organization in the university community.

By entrusting the electoral committee with the responsibility of conducting a free and fair election, the society’s leadership has demonstrated its dedication to upholding the values of transparency and accountability.
