Enyimba Football Club will this Sunday hope to extend their unbeaten run against Bayelsa United in a highly anticipated NPFL Matchday 4 clash.

Enyimba’s lethal forward Bassey John, who once dazzled in the colours of Bayelsa United, has promised that the nine-time champions will do everything possible to maintain their unbeaten record against the Restoration Boys in recent seasons.

“Yeah, we are set for the trip to Yenogoa for our next league game against Bayelsa United,” Bassey told Enyimba Media ahead of the team’s departure. “Our target is the maximum points and we are poised by the fact we haven’t lost to them there in the last two to three seasons. We are all in good mood and determined to give our best, not just to maintain our unbeaten run in the league so far but also to make our fans happy.”

Adding more weight to the confidence in camp, goalkeeper Kelvin Ogunga, who has yet to concede a goal this season, assured fans of another commanding display—particularly as he returns to his native home in Bayelsa.

“We will not disappoint,” Ogunga declared. “I am personally motivated to give my best and ensure we return with all three points. The spirit in camp is very high, and whoever the gaffer selects will fight for the team’s objective.”

In 16 games between both sides in the top flight league, the People’s Elephant have won on 6 occasions drawing 6 times with just 4 losses to the Yenogoa side.

With Enyimba yet to taste defeat in the current campaign, and history on their side against Bayelsa United, the People’s Elephant are poised to stamp their authority once again in Yenogoa.

Kick-off is scheduled for Sunday by 4pm at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenogoa, with the Restoration Boys eager to halt the giants, but Bassey John, Ogunga, and the rest of the squad have sent a clear message—Enyimba will be in Yenogoa for maximum points.
