Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye, a lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), has been selected for the prestigious Atlantic Fellowship for Equity in Brain Health.

The fellowship, hosted simultaneously at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, and the University of California, USA, brings together distinguished researchers from around the world to promote multidisciplinary engagements in brain health, particularly in the treatment of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Dr. Okoye, who also serves as the Faculty Career Officer for the Faculty of Arts, was selected through a highly competitive process. His research interests align with the fellowship’s goals, building on his PhD dissertation, which proposed the concept of “RehabDramatics.” This concept explores the use of performing arts to stimulate and foster healthier psychosocial activities in specific situations.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, has congratulated Dr. Chukwudi Okoye on this achievement and his residency at the Global Brain Health Institute, Trinity College, Dublin, as a Resident Fellow.
