The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has officially unveiled its 2025/2026 season calendar, marking the beginning of another thrilling campaign in Nigerian football.

NPFL new season kicks off on Friday, August 22, 2025, with defending champions Remo Stars facing off against Rivers United in Ikenne.

The league will take a brief break from December 30, 2025, to January 6, 2026, giving teams and players a chance to recharge before the second half of the season.

The mid-season transfer window will be open from January 1 to January 30, 2026, allowing clubs to bolster their squads ahead of the title run-in.

The 2025/2026 season will conclude on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with the champions being crowned and relegation battles reaching their climax.

NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, emphasized the league’s commitment to maintaining a consistent calendar, aligning with international football standards.

The winner of the 2025/2026 season will receive a prize of ₦200 million.
