Nnamdi Azikiwe University’s Prof. Ngozi Egbuna International Centre for Regional Integration & Trade Research is set to host a significant international conference and MSMEs trade exhibition.

The event, themed “30 Years of Nigeria in WTO: Opportunities, Challenges and Prospects,” will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the ASUU Secretariat Auditorium.

The conference comes at a crucial time, as Nigeria marks three decades of membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The event aims to discuss the country’s experiences, challenges, and future prospects within the global trade organization.

Keynote speakers include prominent professors such as Prof. Carol C. Ogbonna, Prof. Abubakar Adamu, Prof. Mohammed Bello Tukur and Prof. Ngozi Egbuna.

The conference will likely explore Nigeria’s development challenges and opportunities within the WTO framework, including discussions on trade policies, dispute settlement mechanisms, and the role of emerging economies.

The event which aligns with ongoing global conversations about WTO reform and its implications for member countries will be declared open by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof Carol Arinze-Umobi.
