Chairman of the Bauchi State Football Association, Patrick Pascal, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Super Falcons of Nigeria for clinching their record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, hailing the team’s resilience and unyielding spirit in Saturday’s dramatic final.

The Falcons, showing true Nigerian grit, came from two goals down at halftime to secure a 3-2 victory over the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco, with Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and substitute Jennifer Echegini scoring in an unforgettable comeback.

In his message, Pascal — who played for Nigeria’s U-23 Dream Team to Olympic in 1996 before taking the reins of Bauchi FA — praised the team for embodying the determination that has made Nigeria a powerhouse in African football.

“The Super Falcons have once again made Nigeria proud by showing that our women’s football is second to none on the continent,” Pascal said. “Their comeback victory against Morocco is a testament to their fighting spirit, unity, and the Nigerian never-say-die attitude. On behalf of the Bauchi FA and the entire football family in our state, I salute these heroines for bringing glory to the nation.”

Pascal also commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Chairman of the National Sports Commission Mallam Shehu Dikko and the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ibrahim Gusau , the technical crew, and the coaching staff for their efforts in preparing the team for success, adding that the triumph would inspire a new generation of young girls to pursue football dreams across the country.
