Rangers International FC has confirmed its participation in the 7th edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select pre-season tournament.

The team’s General Manager, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, assured the tournament’s organizer and Sporting Director of Enyimba FC, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, of the team’s readiness during a courtesy visit at his office in Enugu.

The Rangers boss couldn’t help but reminisce about the journey that started years ago. “It’s remarkable to think that I was part of the first edition of this tournament, and now we’re gearing up for the 7th edition,” Ezeaku said, reflecting on the tournament’s growth and enduring legacy. “Ifeanyi’s commitment to Nigerian football is truly inspiring, and this tournament has become a staple of our pre-season preparations.”

During their meeting, Ezeaku assured Ekwueme that Rangers International Enugu is fully prepared to participate in the tournament, which is set to feature top-tier Nigerian clubs. The team’s readiness is a result of their active preparations for the new season, which include extending the contract of head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and engaging quality players to bolster the squad.

Notably, the 7th edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select pre-season tournament will be played across different venues, marking a new development in the competition’s format. The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 2nd to August 9th and will provide a vital platform for teams to prepare for the new season and showcase their talents.
