President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau has expressed satisfaction with the successful organization of the ongoing WAFU B U20 Youth Tournament.
According to Gusau, the tournament serves as timely preparation for Nigeria’s U-20 team ahead of the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
The tournament provides a crucial build-up for national teams gearing up for global competitions, particularly Nigeria’s Flying Eagles.
The competition has showcased emerging talent in the region, offering a platform for young players to demonstrate their skills.
Gusau emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and consistent youth competitions in raising the standard of African football.
He expressed delight in presiding over the competition’s final for the first time in his new role as President of WAFU Zone B. He hopes the final match, scheduled for July 23, will be a success and mark a significant milestone in the region’s football growth.
