Ebueku Says MTN Athletics Champs Season 4 Will Have More Schools, More Talents, More Excitement

The Senior Manger Sponsorship and GTM, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Osaze Ebueku, on Sunday, stated that the Season 4 of the MTN Athletics Champs will breathtaking and phenomenal.

He made this cheering news public in an interview in Abeokuta during the Confederation of Africa Athletics, (CAA) U-18/U-20 Championship.

Mr. Ebueku explained that the athletics event will be bigger and better than the previous Season 3 and will bring together many schools across Nigeria.

“The 4th Season, is in it planning stage but I can tell you that, it’s going to be full blown, it’s going to be bigger, with a lot of schools, secondary schools in participation, with more energetic champions emerging,” he said.

He emphasized that the MTN Athletics Champs was put together three years ago to help discover and nurture young and talented athletes to fulfill potential.

“MTN Champs is about identifying young athletes across the country, working together with the Making of Champions, and with the help of Making of Champions, we have been able to stage athletics championships across the country and we have been able to discover talents for the past three years,” the further explained.

The senior manager stressed that the Champs has been bearing fruit with various athletes from the Making of Champions winning medals for Team Nigeria at the CAA U-18/U-20 Championship and at other major international events.

“I am happy to report that some of these talents are been featured amongst Team Nigeria and you are seeing them winning medals, and we are very proud of that, we are building future stars, not just African champions, Olympic champions, but World champions, and we are very happy to be part of it.” he said.

He further stressed that Nigeria, the Giants of Africa, is overflowing with talent, this MTN through the Making of Champions is harnessing.

He added that the Telecommunications are not depending on the government to help uncover this athletes, as the government can’t do everything on their own.

“MTN Champs is focused on developing young athletes, because we believe that the bundles of talents in Nigeria is immense, it’s so huge, that’s why we decided to not leave everything to the government, we need to be part of something that projects Nigeria in good light and Athletics is one of them,” he further added.

Mr. Ebueku went on to add that Sports had all had a special place in heart, and ever burning desire for athletics since primary school, with MTN giving him the platform to display this love.

“From when I was a young boy, even from primary school, we used to do athletics, even during Inter-house sports activities, but as we evolved into men, by God’s grace the opportunity to be part of this great thing especially history, came my way through MTN,” he concluded.
