……Congratulates Warri Wolves Chairman, Ambakederemo for 2025/26 Season Success Story

By Ikenna Nwokedi

The Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi has lauded the Nigeria National League (NNL) management under the leadership of Chief George Aluo for the success story recorded in the just concluded Super 8 competition.

The Super 8 playoffs ended on Saturday, 12th July 2025 as Warri Wolves FC defeated Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi 3-2 to emerge champions of the 2024/25 NNL season as Barau FC, Kun Khalifat FC, Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourists gained promotion to the top tier, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Chief Iloenyosi lauded the NNL management for a smooth organization of the eight-day competition which was held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State. The ANSFA Chairman averred that the extension of Chief Aluo’s tenure as NNL Supremo is justified judging by the success story of the Super 8 playoffs.

The Anambra FA boss averred that there has been significant leap in the growth of the ‘Most Important League’ as in the previous season the four clubs who earned promotion from the NNL to the NPFL all maintained their league status while NNL teams has in the past two years played in the finals of the President Federation Cup.

Chief Iloenyosi called on all football stakeholders to support Chief Aluo and his entire board in their efforts geared towards promoting the league and taking Nigerian football to greater heights. Chief Iloenyosi also played a role in the NNL Super 8 closing ceremony as he decorated the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Lateef Yusuf of Warri Wolves in the award ceremony.

In the same vein, Chief Iloenyosi congratulated Warri Wolves Chairman, Chief Neville Ambakederemo for steering his team to victory in the just concluded Super 8 competition. The ANSFA boss described the success story recorded by Warri Wolves FC as deserving of the team owing to their resilience, hardwork, discipline and dedication.

Iloenyosi admonished the Ambakederemo’s led team to ensure they prepare well for the uphill task of playing in the top tier of Nigerian club football.
