Doma United FC’s Technical Adviser, Coach Akinade Onigbinde, has issued a public apology for comments made after his team’s 2-1 loss to Yobe Desert Stars FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Promotional Playoffs.

In a statement, Onigbinde clarified that his remarks were misquoted and misinterpreted, expressing regret over any misunderstanding caused.

Despite the setback, Coach Onigbinde remains optimistic about Doma United’s promotion hopes, citing the team’s resilience and strength.

The team faces a crucial final group match against Barau FC of Kano, which will determine their fate in the competition.

“I want to sincerely apologize for my actions in the aftermath of the post-match press conference interview,” Onigbinde said. “I take full responsibility for the outcome of the match, and I’m confident we’ll overcome all difficulties in our last match.”

With promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on the line, Doma United FC will focus on securing a win against Barau FC.
