NNL Super8 2025: Wolves Roar Back to Life With Convincing 3-0 Win Over Kun Khalifa

Warri Wolves FC bounced back from their opening defeat in the NNL Super 8 playoffs with a commanding 3-0 victory over Kun Khalifat FC at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Jude Ebhohon’s double in the first half set the tone for Wolves’ dominant performance, which was sealed by Yarhere Efe’s goal in the 66th minute.

Despite being reduced to ten men after Efe’s red card, Warri Wolves held firm to secure their first three points of the playoffs.

This win has reignited their promotion charge, with the team now level on points with Kun Khalifat but ahead on goal difference.

Speaking after the game, Coach Napoleon Aluma attributed the victory to self-belief. “Self-belief was the motivating factor. We went unbeaten in the regular season, and after that first loss, we had to look inward, correct our mistakes, and reignite the spirit.”

Kun Khalifa’s Obinna Uzor blamed their woes on the early goal which he said distanlized the team and left the vulnerable.

“The early goal completely demoralised us. It disrupted our rhythm and gave them confidence. From that point, it was tough to bounce back.”

With promotion still within reach, both teams will need to bring their A-game to their final matches.
