NNL Super8: Yobe Desert Stars Boost NPFL Hopes With Doma United Victory

Yobe Desert Stars quest for NPFL qualification got a boost with a win against Doma United in their second match of the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs holding at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, Delta State.

The Damaturu based side showed composure and resilience as they came from behind to beat Doma United 2-1 in a keenly contested cracker played on Monday morning.

Doma United took the lead in the 18th minute of match through Zaka as they held unto their lead going into the break. Abdu Dokshi restored parity for Yobe Desert Stars in the 59th minute while Umar Gwaska would ensure the Damaturu based club secured the maximum points by scoring in the 80th minute of the game.

Reacting after the win, Yobe Desert Stars Technical Adviser, Ernest Jupiter stated that the win was possible through dint of hard work, resilience and determination even after trailing in the early going.

Jupiter also said the win will serve as a big motivation going into their final match against Wikki Tourists on Thursday, 10th June 2025.
