A male student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has d!ed after jumping from his off-campus lodge.

The boy jumped from the balcony of the three-story building located near the school after allegedly consuming “colos”.

According to eyewitnesses, they heard a loud thud on Thursday evening, June 5, and rushed to the scene, where they found the male student in a pool of his blood.

He was rushed to a hospital but was confirmed dead.

A student who spoke to LIB said he was given a substance named “colos” by another resident of the lodge (the student in the picture)

A video shared with LIB shows residents scolding the young man who gave him the substance (the man in the picture). They accused him of standing by and doing nothing while the young man jumped. The man seemed to be under the influence himself and could not put up a defence.

The roommate who allegedly gave the victim the substance is currently in custody and will be questioned further once he is no longer under the influence of the substance.
