As the Gubernatorial Election fast approaches, a Political Support Group under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ikemba Front, has adopted Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as the preferred candidate for the April 5th, 2025 primary election of the party in Anambra State.
The National Coordinator of the group, Arinze Awogu who spoke during a forum at the Aspirant’s Campaign Office in Awka, the state capital, yesterday, confirmed that the unanimous decision was made by members of the group
Awogu explained that they also considered the political interest of its Prime Mover, Late Sen. Ifeanyi Uba in arriving at the decision. He further added that they observed with keen interest events in the party, strength of other candidates and zoning arrangement in the state and concluded to give their support to Prince Ukachukwu.
He said, “Ikemba Front as a political movement is rooting for the aspirant to not only win the primary election, but also emerge victorious in the forthcoming November 25th Gubernatorial poll”, even as he underscored the need to respect zoning arrangement in the state. He however insisted that Anambra South should be allowed to complete its turn to guarantee equity and fairness.
According to him, Prince Ukachukwu would convincingly recreate and reinvent the state if given the mandate, urging members of the party to rally round him to ensure that the dream is actualized.
Also speaking at the event, Chairman of the group’s Committee of Elders, Elder Johnny Oraefo, who corroborated the idea in adopting Prince Ukachukwu as the aspirants, said they joined the clarion call to support him as the best among others to secure the party’s ticket and win the election, insisting that APC will emerge the Governor of Anambra State come November, 2025.
The event also featured recognition and award presentation to some of the groups promoters including Bishop Mike Nwankpa, Dr Ejike Ezendu, Chief Linus Ezenkwu, Dr Tony Aniukwu amongst others
