President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially flagged off and performed the foundation stone laying of Continuing Education Programme (CEP) Legacy Administrative Complex at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
President Tinubu performed the flag off on Friday, 28th March, 2025 at the site of the project as part of activities on the third day of the 19th Convocation Ceremonies of the University.
President Tinubu stated that his administration is committed to education sector and is making efforts to revamp he education sector with a view to improving quality and the accessibility of sound education to every Nigeria.
President Tinubu who was represented by the Vice-Chancellor of African University of Science and Technology, Abuja and former Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Prof. Joseph, Ahaneku, commended the current administration under the leadership of the acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu for the vision of BLESSeD UNIZIK geared towards enhancing teaching, research, academic and administrative excellence in the University.
Earlier in his remarks, the Director of CEP, Prof. Okenwa Cy Ogbodo eulogized the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ikechebelu for giving the nod and support towards the commencement of the project.
Prof. Ogbodo stated that the CEP which is 33 years old in the current session is ripe to have her administrative building in order to enhance the outlook of the institution through the part-time programme.
The scholar promised that under his watch the programme will continue to thrive in its quest of churning out graduates who are both worthy in learning and character that can go on to contribute to societal growth and development.
Prof. Ogbodo called on friends of the university, alumni and products of the CEP to invest and support the noble project.
Highpoints of the occasion was the ceremonial foundation laying of the CEP Legacy Administrative Complex performed by the visitor of the institution.
