Egwuchika Tochukwu Onyeze the Overall Best Graduating Students at the 19th Convocation Ceremony of Nnamdi Azikiwe said his dream is to become a Professor one day.
Mr. Onyeze who graduated with a CGPA of 4.95 emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student.
While presenting his valedictory speech at the 19th Convocation Ceremony of Nnamdi Azikiwe University held on Thursday, 27th March 2025, Mr Onyeze said boldly that he will love to be a Professor and contribute to the academic.
Speaking on the topic: Academic Excellence he defined Academic Excellence in two ways, Maximizing natural potentials and capacity and consistency in grades, saying that when one meets all these it opens floodgates of academic excellence.
He pointed out four key ways a student can achieve academic excellence to include having a strong spirit, Sound mind, Brilliant brain and Effective work input.
According to him, coordinating on one aspect and leaving the other cannot lead to academic excellence insisting that only balance on these areas that can births academic excellence.
The Best Graduating Student also explained that an effective work input is all about studying to know, to understand and the ability to apply the knowledge emphasizing that everyone has a high Intelligent quotient but the ability to maximize these capacity that differentiate everyone.
He called on the University to expand to give room for the actualization of other capacities as only two capacities which are Literary and Intellectual and partially Technical capacity exist which he believes does not fit into global best practices
He calls on the Lecturers to give students knowledge and understanding not just knowledge which they don’t understand and can’t apply in real life but knowledge and understanding which can be applied to innovate.
He called on youths to avoid yahoo business and use that knowledge to innovate, create and solve problems attributing his success to the mercy of Jesus Christ
