The Executive Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Awka, Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi has described Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR as the most education friendly Governor in Nigeria.

Speaking to the press on the Governor’s three years in office, Dr. Nwadinobi noted that the massive development in all sectors of the State economy is unprecedented, especially in the education sector.

According to the ASUBEB boss, the Governor has shown remarkable interest in the basic education sector by not only employing over 8,000 teachers to end the era of schools without teachers, he promptly payed the state counterpart funding to attract the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC grants for 2019, 2020 and 2021 UBEC funding to enhance the State’s to basic education.

Dr. Nwadinobi explained that the counterpart funds payment by Governor Soludo has brought a total turnaround in the upgrade of teaching and learning outcomes in the state, ranging from infrastructural upgrades, to provision of instructional materials to schools, the supply of laptops and tablets to Headteachers and teachers as well as provision of sporting equipment to enhance the psychomotor domain of learning and schools sports in the state.

“The most significant support provided by Mr. Governor to the learners in Anambra State is the free education policy he approved for the state public schools from basic schools to senior secondary schools, making mass literacy and numeracy available to all the children in Anambra State”, she emphasized.

Continuing, the ASUBEB Chairman noted that because of the Governor’s support, ASUBEB has succeeded in raising the quality of teaching and learning in the State basic schools a notch higher through a series of human capital development initiatives organised for the tutorial and non tutorial staff of the Board, citing the launching of the Unified Teaching Curriculum for all primary schools in the State as the most outstanding achievement of the Board under Governor Soludo’s administration.

While congratulating the Governor for all the milestones he has achieved in just three years, Dr. Nwadinobi enjoined Ndi Anambra to continue to support the administration of Governor Soludo to take the State to a greater height.
