The Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina is set to witness a crunchy Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 25 battle as Katsina United hosts Enyimba FC in a fixture that promises fireworks.

With both teams desperately seeking points to climb up the table, Enyimba’s young and in-form defender, Obichere Odinaka, has fired a strong warning, making it clear that the People’s Elephant have arrived in Katsina with one objective—business.

“We the players are ready for tomorrow’s game (Thursday). All the way from Aba to Katsina, we are not here for a joke, we are going for the points. With God, we can achieve the result,” Obichere declared with confidence.

This fixture carries weight beyond just three points, as both teams are eager to improve their standing.

Nine-time NPFL champions, Enyimba, currently sit 11th on the log, an unfamiliar position for a team of their stature, while Katsina United occupy 14th place, just a few steps away from the relegation zone. A win for either side could significantly boost their season ambitions.

Historically, these two teams have met 16 times in the NPFL, with Enyimba holding a slight edge with seven wins compared to Katsina United’s six, while one encounter ended in a stalemate. However, home advantage has played a crucial role in this fixture, and Katsina United will be hoping to make it count again.

After securing a vital home victory against Rivers United last weekend, Enyimba, under Coach Stanley Eguma, will look to build on that momentum.

Obichere, who has been a revelation in Enyimba’s defense this season, also had a message for the fans.

“The fans should keep believing in us and keep supporting us, because that’s what we need right now. For me, I will continue to give my best as long as I find myself on the field of play.”

With kickoff set for 4 PM on Thursday, all eyes will be on Muhammadu Dikko Stadium as these two NPFL sides lock horns.

Will Enyimba leave Katsina with all three points as Obichere predicts? Or will Katsina United make home advantage count once again?

One thing is certain—this clash will be nothing short of electrifying.
