As the new fiscal year unfolds, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, is charting a path toward a transformative year by leading a strategic retreat for members of the Anambra State Executive Council and mayors. The retreat, held in Awka, is themed “Changing Gear, Accelerating the Execution of the Solution Agenda in 2025.” It marks a pivotal moment for the administration as it seeks to reflect on its journey, strengthen its strategies, and drive impactful results for the people of Anambra.

In his opening address, Governor Soludo delivered an inspiring charge on the sub-theme, “Changing Gears 2.0,” emphasizing the significance of 2025 to his administration. He described it as a milestone year, with March 2026 marking the end of his first four years in office. The retreat, he explained, is designed to provide an opportunity for the team to pause, reflect, and recalibrate for the critical period ahead.

“This is an important year for us,” the governor stated. “By the 17th of March next year, we will draw the curtain on four years of this administration. The purpose of this retreat is for us to do ‘our balcony moment,’ as we are beginning the new year from the calendar and fiscal year perspective, even though, from a tenure perspective, our administration’s new year begins in March.”

Governor Soludo urged participants to take a critical look at the administration’s roadmap, as articulated in its manifesto, and assess their progress. He challenged them to identify areas of success, pinpoint shortcomings, and chart new approaches to accelerate implementation. “You’ll answer the questions in terms of the MDAs and relative to the entire state—what are we not doing well? What’s going to be new, and what’s going to be different?” he asked.

The governor did not shy away from the realities of governance, acknowledging the challenges the administration faces. Yet, he was resolute in his vision, declaring 2025 as a year dedicated to execution and completion.

“Despite the odds, 2025 is an execution and completion year,” he emphasized. “The intention is to coordinate and deliver in a way that we have not done before, focusing on the delivery mechanism as a team to show the people results.”

For the solution governor, this is not just about routine governance; it is about tangible transformation. The retreat is not only a moment for reflection but a rallying call to action. His focus on teamwork and collaboration underscores the administration’s resolve to deliver measurable progress that resonates with the people of Anambra.

At the retreat, participants are expected to explore innovative strategies to enhance service delivery and align their efforts with the administration’s solution agenda. The Governor’s emphasis on leadership, accountability, and teamwork signals his commitment to building a sustainable framework for development in Anambra.

With 2025 positioned as a defining year, Governor Soludo is steering his team toward a shared vision of progress. The retreat is a testament to his dedication to leaving a legacy of impactful governance, driven by results, and focused on the well-being of the people.

For the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor and his team, this is not just a meeting—it is a declaration of purpose, a moment to sharpen focus, and a commitment to translate vision into reality. As Anambra moves forward, all eyes will be on the results of this renewed push for execution and completion.
