A former member of the Federal House of Representatives, for the Abuja Municipal Area Council and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Nicholas Chukwujekwu Ukachukwu has vowed to change the narrative of insecurity in Anambra State for the better when he’s elected Governor in the fast approaching November 2025 governorship election.
Prince Ukachukwu revealed this during his formal declaration at the APC State headquarters along with his teaming supporters at the party Secretariat, Awka, Anambra State emphasized that he’s in the race to win in order to ensure citizens including himself start sleeping in the state and homes once more.
“We can’t continue like this.
” I want Anambra to be better. We all see that presently no place, person, age or gender is sacred anymore, as insecurity has unfortunately become the norm. It must stop”, he emphasized.
He noted that his supporters impressed on him to come out and contest in the interest/welfare of citizens of the state, and he accepted.
He disclosed that he has been on political sabbatical for a reasonable period, until now.
But that majority of Anambra citizens impressed on him to run for the governorship of the State. He therefore assured the party, including all the groups, support groups that collapsed their structures into his structures, that he will not betray their confidence.
He quickly added that, “.. but if you betray me, you will be betrayed all your life and in all your endeavours…”
Prince Ukachukwu said, “I want you to partner with me. We will be in partnership.
“You know my capacity and I have not changed. If you believe in what you have said, rise up and shout Jesus three times…”, And they did.
“I wholeheartedly accept your request. If you sincerely do your part and I do my part, we will make it.
“Since I started politics, any party I don’t support will not win my Nnewi South local government area. I have the capacity and capability to govern Anambra State well and effectively, he explained.
He received the support groups and all the political structures with open hands, and disclosed that the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah who he described as his younger brother had prior to his sudden unfortunate demise, confided in him about his governorship ambition and plans.
He said that Ubah also told him what he discussed and agreed with President Bola Tinubu over the Anambra governorship project and yet asked him (Ukachukwu) whether he would be interested to run for Governor.
“I told him that I would be a bad elder brother to declare my interest for the governorship at the same time having seen how far he(Ubah) had prepared, and the discussions with Mr President. I asked him to go, that I will support him.
“Many people do not understand the APC. I do. Tinubu is running Nigeria like a business venture to succeed.
Yes. As a businessman, whenever you invest in a business you should exercise patience before the profit start coming. And when the profit comes, you become comfortable.
“All we need is patience. We need an APC man as a Governor to attract Federal presence to the State.
“Make me Governor and under three months insecurity will disappear in Anambra State. I have the antidote. I have the blueprint to make Anambra better than what it is today, “he stressed.
Ukachukwu took time and patiently down memory lane of his political journey and experience as a key element in what happens in the political firmament of the state.
Prince Ukachukwu admitted that if we fail to get it right this time, we will retire.
After all it’s only any party he supports that wins his Nnewi South Council. And therefore APC will now take Nnewi South Council and environs.
The governorship popularly called Ikukuoma(wind of glory) had earlier met his Orsumenyi Ward and Nnewi South Council area members of the party over the project.
He vowed to do all that was legally necessary to win the governorship seat of Anambra State this time.
The state chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike warmly welcomed him on behalf of the executives and members of APC.
Ejidike assured him and his supporters of a level playing ground, fairness and equity.
He gave party faithfuls opportunity to interact directly with Ukachukwu vide a questions and answer session for better understandin/clarification.
