Former Nasarawa United’s hitman, Chisom Sunday Okereke scored his second goal of the season for his Club, Mosta FC, in an electrifying match-day ten clash against hosts, Melita FC Saint Julian, in the 2024/25 Maltese Premier League on Saturday, 2nd November, 2024.

The match began with both teams displaying cautious approaches in the early stages.

Shortly after, the intensity of the game picked up as the away side, Mosta FC, started dominating possession.

Chisom broke the deadlock, 18 minutes into the game with a close range strike that beat the hosts’ goalkeeper with precision and little power, marking his second goal of the campaign and ignited a handful of the away side’s supporters.

Andre Carlos equalized for Melita FC Saint Julian five minutes later through a well-executed counter-attack.

However, Mosta FC regained the lead just six minutes before the break courtesy of the individual brilliance of Nathan Agius who dribbled past two defenders before lashing the ball past the grasp of the home side goalkeeper, to seal the win for his side.

The victory propels Mosta to 5th position with 15 points from ten games, just four points shy of 4th place Sliema, while Melita drops to 9th position with nine points in the twelve-team Maltese Premier League.

Mosta will host 10th-placed Balzan FC in their next game of the season on Thursday, 7th November, 2024, at the Charles Abela Memorial Stadium, Trig il-Bufula il-Hamra, Mosta, Malta, by 8.30pm.

Chisom has netted twice and provided one assist since joining the Southern European nation elite league.

The bulky attacker joined Enyimba FC from the Solid Miners(Nasarawa United)before spending a season with Bendel Insurance on loan where he completed his move to European Club.
