There have been questions about why Enyimba traveled by road to Maiduguri for their NPFL match day 7 fixture against El-Kanemi warriors.

The real reason for that has been revealed.

The club tried to book flights for the trip two weeks ahead but flights to Maiduguri for October was fully booked and the club tried other airlines.

Normally for such flights, they needed to submit list of players two weeks before the trip. However, since the team had two more games, it was difficult for the coach to send in names to airlines for seat reservation and changing of names is not possible, except a new ticket is bought, in the case of injuries and illness.

Management then decided to travel by road.

Meanwhile, the club will fly in other games to the far North as the partnership with United Nigeria airlines will be fully activated.

The club official who spoke said the club is working to change the narrative in subsequent games.

Can we add;

He however added that the current management of Enyimba FC has demonstrated and will continue to show their top priority for the safety and welfare of it’s players and staff with it’s visionary and goal oriented polices and understands the concern expressed in some quarters.
