Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Rivers State Chapter has Congratulated Rivers Hoopers team as they emerged Champions of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Independence Day Basketball Championship.
The reigning Champions of the Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) Hoopers beat City Chiefs 72-59 to lift the trophy at Mo Arena on Sunday.
This was contained in a statement signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Cyril Dum Wite and Comrade Tonye Orabere respectively.
SWAN Rivers State Chapter further urge Hoopers to continue their impressive performance and defend their title when NPBL will tip off on the 25th October, 2024.
However, the association use the forum to advice Hoopers not to be carried away by their present performance and to not underrate any team hence every team in the League are training hard to beat them.
In the same vein Sports Writers in the State commends the entire technical crew and General Manager of the team for this laudable feat.
