TICO/SELECT 2024: Chidiebere John Optimistic As Coal City Battle Rangers In Enugu Derby

As Coal City FC prepare to meet Rangers International in a rekindled Enugu derby at the ongoing Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament, a member of NNL side Apex Crane FC, Chidiebere John is optimistic Coal City will survive the heat of the NPFL Champions.

Speaking with the TICO/SELECT Media, the lanky striker said the young lads are set to do their best despite their position on the table.

“It will not be easy but I know they are prepared. They are their big brothers but this is football and they will give it their best”.

Coal City FC will have their hands filled by 4pm tomorrow Tuesday 27th August, 2024 when they take on the league champions in an Enugu City derby at the Abakiliki Township Stadium.

Before the evening game, Excellent FC of Ugheli, Delta State will attempt to join Enyimba FC to the Semis when they take on home side and the youngest in the tournament, Mathias FA of Ebonyi State in the first game of the day by 9.am. Mathias FC is the weeping baby of the group having lost two of their matches.

Kun Khalifat will take on Abia Warriors by 12.noon in their last group match after sharing spoils in their second and third matches with the Enugu brothers, Rangers FC and Coal City FC and losing to Apex Crane in their opening game
