‘I want To Be A super Star’ – Rejoice Ogbonna

One of the beautiful revelations of the ongoing 2024 SEWFA/Tawkwell football league, Rejoice Ogbonna has said that her dream is to be a Super Star.

Little Rejoice who plays for Pepsi Football Academy, Aba while speaking with Newspathfinder said she loves the way former Barcelona and PSG winger from Brazil, Neymar plays and would love to be like him.

The 12 year old JSS 2 student of GOD IS REAL ACADEMY, Aba who said she was inspired by Uchenna Kalu informed that she began playing while in primary five where her Head Teacher saw the potentials and advised her parents to enroll her in a football academy.

“I started playing while in Basic five. From there my Head Teacher advised my parents to find a football club where l can be developed. My parents took me to Pepsi Football Academy, Aba”, she said.

According to the petite striker, since she joined the academy, her Coach has been teaching her how to be a good footballer with technical knowledge of the game.

The Amasiri in Afikpo L.G.A. Ebonyi state born player said she enjoys 100% support of her parents. “My parents support me very well. They pay my travel fee, buy my boots and change it when it’s old. Anything l need to play, they provide for me”,

“I want to play like Neymar and Uchenna Kalu. I want to be a super Star to make my parents, coach, my teammates, and Nigeria proud”.

Rejoice who also plays volleyball said her favorite club at world stage is Manchester United while an Aba based female football club, Solo Wonders FC is her home team favorite.

Rejoice was introduced in their second game of the tournament against Zohar FA of Enugu which they lost 1-2 and their last group match today against Imo Strikers which they equally lost.

Although Pepsi Football Academy may not continue with the tournament having lost two of their three group matches, but the young star is delighted to be part of the tournament playing alongside very senior players.

Another revelation of the tournament is nine year old Primary 6 Pupil Chikamso of Eziome Mbieri Community Primary school in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state.

Chikamso plays for Imo Strikers Feeders and has played twice.

The 2024 SEWFA-Tawkwell football league currently ongoing in Awka, Anambra State entered day six today with more exciting stellar performances. The beautiful soccer show peice has witnessed goal rains since the first blast of wheestle.

In the matches played today, Imo strikers Queens walloped Pepsi Football Academy 12-0, Giant Empress SA spanked Little Bird FC 11-1 while Awka Angels defeated Solo Wonders UKF 5-1

In other results on Thursday, Imo Striker Queens Feeders lost heavily 1-7 to Green Foot SA while Solo Wonders (UKF) of Abia drew 1-1 with debutants Dynamite Angels of Anambra.

On Wednesday, Imo Striker Queens Feeders lost 1-3 in their maiden SEWFA League game against Giant Empress SA, just as GPWorld FA paid for it in the hands of Imo Striker Queens Snrs 1-7 with Harmony Chidi recording her second hat trick of the league.

In the last game between Awka Angels FC and Immaculate Queens of Enugu, the Anambra ran away 6-0 as Ifeanyichukwu scored a hat trick to make it three players on hat trick so far in the league
