Abia Warriors shirt sponsor, Eunisell Ltd, has hosted the Chairman, Board, Management, Technical crew and players of the club to a dinner.

The event which took place yesterday, 30th June 2024, at Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, was a reception for Abia Warriors Football Club, for coming second in the 2024 President Federation Cup.

The Group Managing Director of the company, Mr Chika Ikenga while interacting with the players encouraged them to put the result of the President Federation Cup final behind and move on.

“…yesterday was your moment. You’re not playing for me, you’re not playing for the Chairman, you’re not playing for the governor, you’re not playing for the team; you’re playing for yourself, so that later you can show your grand children. So, what am I trying to tell you? What I’m trying to tell you is that what has happened yesterday has happened, you need to move forward, don’t let football happen, you need to determine that you would happen to football”, he said.

“So, next time, you need to make it happen, it doesn’t matter where you find yourself, you need to realize you’re the one who can determine what will happen to you, not God because, God also is supporting the other team.

“God gives all of you equal chance, equal opportunity, but it has to be you. You need to have the hunger. You need to determine you want it more. You die on the pitch for that one glory, it doesn’t matter even if it’s the only thing you ever achieved. So, you take it one day at a time.”

The Group Managing Director also enjoined them not to give up.

“So, let’s not give up, let’s not leave something to destiny to football happening, whatever it is, it’s all in our minds, it’s all here.”

In his final remark, Mr Ikenga thanked the players for reaching the final.

“Well we thank God you got this far, and what is left, is left for you to go out there and make it happen. There will always be other opportunities. Thank you.”

The captain of Abia Warriors, Augustine Njoku while responding on behalf of the players thanked Mr Ikenga and by extension Eunisell Ltd for the reception.

“We want to say a very big thank you for believing in us at first, and for receiving us even though we didn’t actually make you happy yesterday because of the result we got, but we equally want to thank you for receiving us as well. We say thank you very much. On behalf of me and my teammates, we say thank you very much.”

On his part, Abia Warriors Chairman, Coach John Obuh expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Eunisell Ltd for their belief in the team and for the state government under the leadership of Dr Alex Chioma Otti for their encouragement and support throughout the just concluded season and pledged that Abia Warriors will always stand by them.

Eunisell Ltd, a chemical solutions leader, delivers world-class technology and engineering improvements to oil and gas production.
