The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter is mourning with its members, who lost a father and a husband, less than 24 hours apart.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Shehu Abdullahi and Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available on Thursday May 30, 2024

It lamented that just as they were shocked by the sudden death of the husband of their member, Amina Anebi on Tuesday evening, news broke on the demise of the father of another member, Tega Nwaiwu on Wednesday morning.

“It is indeed a sad moment for SWAN members in Kaduna State as two of our members, lost loved ones hours apart. These deaths are devastating and our condolences go out to our dear members,” it said

Kaduna SWAN lamented that only recently, two of its other members, Grace John and Vincent Akinbami lost their father and sister respectively.

“While we are still feeling the loss of the loved one of those members, we are yet again thrown into another round of mourning,” it said.l

While wishing the deceased to rest in peace and the loved ones a fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, Kaduna SWAN prayed that God Almighty would keep protecting all its members and their loved ones.
