Office Of DVC Administration Nnamdi Azikiwe University Bids VC, Prof. Esimone Farewell

The office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka on Tuesday, 28th May 2024 honoured the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone as he winds down on his tenure.

The special valedictory meeting held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office saw the staff of the DVC (Admin) office led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu.

In his opening remarks, the Director of University Medical Centre, Prof. Lasbery Asomugha eulogized the Vice-Chancellor for his administrative acumen and vision during his five-year reign as the Chief Executive of the institution with his ‘Project 200’ vision. Prof. Asomugha affirmed that there were significant successes recorded during his tenure especially in the areas of academic excellence and administrative reforms. The scholar prayed for God’s grace and upliftment for Prof. Esimone in his future engagements.

In his note of appreciation, the Secretary to DVC Admin, Mr. Mfon Okon Udoh remarked that the office of the DVC experienced tremendous support from Prof. Esimone’s administration through welfare and training of her staff members while also acknowledging approvals of their memos and requests. He thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his administrative acumen and milk of kindness experienced by not just the staff of the DVC office but the entire institution.

In a vote of thanks, the Director of the Centre for Arts, Culture and Humanities (CACH), Prof. Nkechinyere Nwokoye described Prof. Esimone as a leader with many positive attributes and a man marked with the symbol of greatness. She thanked the office of the DVC Admin for their support towards the successes recorded by the present administration while specially appreciating Prof. Ikechebelu for being a live wire of Prof. Esimone’s success story.

Highpoints of the occasion was presentation of gift items to the Vice-Chancellor and photo session with the members of staff of the office of the DVC Admin.
