Activities in the ongoing Anambra Sports Solution Initiative festival for primary and secondary schools in Anambra have been concluded at the Community and Local Government Area stages .
The festival which started on May 3 at the community level is featuring 12 events including Athletics, Basketball, Chess, Football, Scrabble, Swimming, Table tennis, Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Cricket and Ncho in U-12, U-14 and U-18 categories.
The Community and Local Government eliminations were for team events.
In Aguata LGA, Christ the Redeemer College, Amesi qualified for Football U18 male and U14 while Girls secondary school lgboukwu and Town School lgboukwu made it to the Zonal stage of female football in for U-18 and U-12 categories respectively.
The result by Stella Otti, the Sports Officer in charge of Aguata also indicated that in Volleyball, GTC Umuchu qualified for Female U-18 while Community Secondary School, Isuofia made it to Male U-18 and U-14 categories.
Anaocha will compete in three events including football, basketball and Volleyball at Anambra Central Zonal eliminations according to Chijioke Onyedika, the Officer and Coordinator of the LGA
Community Primary School Adazi-ani qualified for U12 male football, Bubendorff Grammar School Adazi-nnukwu U14 and U18 football,
Rosa Mystica Secondary School Agulu U18 female football.
In Basketball Bubendoff qualified in U18 Male as well as Volleyball
U14 male, Holy Queen Secondary School Aguluzigbo and female U14 female while Rosa Mystica Secondary School Agulu made it to U18 female
In Idemili South, Umunocha Primary School, Awka Etiti qualified for football male U-12, Mater Dei Secondary School, Alor, St Joseph Seminary, Awka Etiti and Merchant of Light Secondary School, Oba qualified for different categories of football event while St Joseph Seminary, Awka Etiti made it to the next stage in Volleyball.
Okutalukwe Community Secondary .School Enugwu- Ukwu U-18 male football team will join Community Secondary School., Enugwu-Agidi U-18 Female and U-14 male football teams as well as Urugbe Pri. Sch.,Nimo U–12 Male footbal at the zonal final from Dunukofia LGA
In volleyball. Okutalukwe U-18 male also made it.
Schools that will represent their various local government areas at the Senatorial District level are now warming up and waiting for the pairings to know their opponents
