Madubuko Intends Beach Soccer To  Become Part Of School Sports Soon.

Prof. Victor Madubuko, Chairman of Anambra Beach Soccer Association has expressed confidence that the game will be included in school sports competitions.

Prof. Madubuko who spoke at the closing ceremony of the 4-day Nigeria Beach Soccer League in Nnewi, the industrial hub of Anambra on Sunday.

According to him, Beach Soccer had grown in popularity two years after the association was formed in the State.

He thanked the Anambra government for promising to support the association in promoting Beach Soccer through construction of beach soccer pitches in the 21 Local Government Areas across the State.

“The intention is that we will have beach soccer made part of school curriculum, so we are reaching out the Sports Commission to see how the game can become part of school sports,” he said.

The second round of Nigeria Beach Soccer League has ended in Nnewi, Anambra with four teams qualifying for the final round of the competition.

The top four teams were Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, Kada Beach Soccer Club,  Kebbi Beach Soccer Club and Kebbi United Beach Soccer Club.

The four teams will compete in the third and concluding round of the league which will be held in Kaduna later this year.

In the matches played on the final day, Jigawa Golden Star BSC defeated Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors by 5-3

Nmanko Patigi Beach Soccer Club and Jigawa Golden Stars Beach Soccer Club, the two other teams which took part in the league bow out of the competition after failing to make it to the top four.
