The Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors have moved to the top of the table after Day seven at the Nigeria Beach Soccer League after a stellar performances against two top teams, Kebbi Beach Soccer Club and Kada Beach Soccer Club.
A dream come true for the South East Beach Soccer jewels who placed third in the first round and lost a million Naira promise by the sole sponsor of Beach Soccer in Anambra state, Prof. Victor Mmadubuko.
Extending their unbeaten run at the tournament holding at the Moonshine Arena Nnewi, the Warriors refused a repeat of history as they stood strong against Nigeria’s number one beach soccer club Kebbi Beach Soccer Club in a rubber game that went into extra time and ended in penalties.
The game ended 4-4 at regulation time and 6-5 on penalties with Stanley Ekwo scoring all the four goals.
In the evening session, the warriors in what was a typical picture of a revenge mission trounced Kada Beach Soccer Club 8-4 to raise their hope of a permanent first position in the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League second round.
In the matches to be played today Kebbi Beach Soccer Club will play against Nmamko Patigi Beach Soccer Club while Kebbi United will square up against Kada Beach Soccer Club in the morning session.
Evening session will come with full package of entertainment as Anambra Warriors seek to consolidate their leadership on the table against Jigawa Golden Stars. The game will come after Nmamko Patigi Beach Soccer Club match against Kebbi United.
