Enyimba Vow Never To Accept NFF O&D Decisions In Disputed MatchDay 24 Game Against Doma

Enyimba of Aba have stated in clear terms that they stop at nothing towards ensuring that justice is served in their disputed NPFL Match Day 24 clash against Doma United.

The People’s Elephant, proud winners of the Nigeria top flight for nine times and only Nigerian club to have won the CAF Champions League, had won the vexed clash in Aba following Mbaoma’s 88 minute strike.

But protesting Doma United felt the goal shouldn’t stand and after nudging and pushing on the referee and his first Assistant Referee 1, the referee went to the OB Van of the Live Match Broadcast Right Owners, StarTimes to review the incident. Convinced it was a genuine and legimate goal, the referee allowed the goal to stand.

Doma Utd headed for the NPFL Boardroom aiming to overtune the result. The League organisers upheld the match result (1-0) but with N7m sanction on Enyimba as well as three home games behind closed doors.

Shockingly, the Organising & Disciplinary, O&D, of NFF ruled otherwise. The Committee instead ruled for a two-point deduction from Enyimba, a decision the club have vehemently rejected.

In the present instance, the O&D ruled that the ‘result as at the time (88min) when the incident happened should stand with two points deducted from the Enyimba’s supposed three points accruals from the game’.

Enyimba are now feeling hard done, vowing never to accept the verdict, which if they do, will negatively affect their 10th NPFL title challenge.

Checks by Exclusivenews.com.ng reveal that the South East club have already forwarded a strong appeal letter to the Appeals Committee of the NFF, rejecting all the decisions of the O&D.

“This is football injustice and we cannot allow it to stand”, an official of the two-African champions screamed on Monday when Exclusivenews.com.ng called him up.

“There are so much infractions in the whole thing. We’ve video evidences to back our claim. Doma Utd molested referee and his assistant, not us. And of course, the referee went and checked from the OB Van of StarTimes and upheld our goal. So, why should our hard earned points be denied us?

“Is there anybody who’s afraid of Enyimba winning the league? If not, why deducting our points two months after the match was concluded? Why deduct our points even when NPF in their Summary Jurisdiction didn’t take such decision or recommend such?”, the Enyimba official querried rhetorically.
