Olympian and former 400mh Champion Maria Usifo has commended the effort of Princess Mabel Madojiemu for her unalloyed interest in grassroots AthIetics development in Edo State through her foundation.
Usifo, a retired AthIetics chief coach in Edo State Sports Commission stated that Madojiemu’s overwhelming passion for young talents in Nigeria says much about her interest even amid scares resources.
“Princess Mabel is passionate about grassroots AthIetics development, that is the reason she is committing her resources in making sure no talent is left undiscovered.
She can do without spending her money for anybody considering her esteemed background like others, but she decided to assist in discoving young talents through her foundation. I am happy because what I could not do, seeing another person doing it in this hard time is worth commending, Usifo said.
Meanwhile, Princess Mabel Madojiemu U-15 AthIetics competitions organiser has extended invitations to a select group of talented AthIetes from Ogun, Delta, Anambra and other states to participate in the 4×100m relay event as esteemed guest teams.
Speaking in a recent interview She said , “We are thrilled to announce that the 3rd edition of our esteemed event will be extending invitations to a select group of talented athletes from neighboring states, including Ogun, Delta, and others, to participate in the 4×100 relay as our esteemed guests.”.
The ebullent Olympian quarter-miler and a board member of Edo State Sports Commission expressed gratitude to the board Chairman Yusuf Alli for his encouraging words and commitment for the competition.
Events to feature in the 2-Day sports fiesta include 100/200m, 4×100m Relay, 400×100m mixed-relay, long jump, 800m, High jump, 1500m 400m, etc. Elite relays and invited relay team.
Athletes registrations have commenced and a definite number of registered AthIetes would released in due course.
The competition will hold on April 25th-26th, 2024 at the prestigious Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State.
