Coach Yemi Olarenwaju has dedicated Enyimba’s NPFL MatchDay 26 victory over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday to the Fans.

Recall that the team following the league organizers punishment played without their fans.

Reacting to the press after the encounter, Enyimba’s Assistant Coach congratulated his boys for resilience and staying focused during the game till the goals started coming.

He however expressed his disappoinment not having the fans at the stands during the encounter decided at the Enyimba Int’l Stadium, Aba.

He lauded Coach Finidi George’s tactical set up in Enyimba stressing that if the boys converted the chances created it would have been bigger than 3-1 score line.

Coach Yemi added that they are quickly switching attention to the next game against Kwara United in Ilorin next Sunday.

Second half Goals from Muyiwa Balogun, Elijah Akani and Uche Collins was enough to tame the hard fighting Minna based side who were unbeaten in four games prior to the game in Aba.

The Aba giants who held Tornadoes in Kaduna to a goalless draw in the reverse fixture missed avalanche of chances and also had keeper Djeri Bassa in fine form keeping the away side’s threats in check.

“Yeah, Congratulations to the team, for me personally I would like to dedicate this victory to our fans, it’s strange seeing the stadium empty. I am used to looking back and seeing the way the fans cheering us”,

“For me is a bit disappointing we didn’t have our fans but we keep getting the job done, that’s the most important thing and this victory is for our fans for the way they have been supporting us”.

When asked about the consistency despite Coach Finidi’s absence, he attributed the successes to his boss’s long laid foundation which has robbed off positively on the team.

“What coach Finidi has put in Enyimba is something that is very immense, the tactical set up and everything for the past two years has been very very good. If the boys have been utilizing the chances, it would leave us in a better standing”,

“I don’t think we struggled in the first half of this game, we were only a bit anxious to score, we created chances once every three minutes, that shows in the first half it could have been 4-0 or even 5-0 but that’s football for you”

“We have to manage the 3-1 score line. The focus now is the next game against Kwara United and we know the league is going to be tough, its a marathon, we play a game we put it behind us and focus on the next one. So all am thinking about now is the game against Kwara United.
