Against the backdrop of criticisms against the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo on his achievements so far, the National Coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has described Soludo as a great performer.

He said that in less than 2-years of leadership, the governor has employed no fewer than 10,000 people both in the health and education sector.

Obigwe’s reaction is coming on the heels of a write up credited to Eneh Victor Chigozie, titled:“Soludo has missed the opportunity of becoming the best Governor in South-East, let’s look up to Otti”, said the people in a good position to assess Soludo’s performance were Ndi Anambra and unbiased critics, not those he called “earn as you write” critics.

He accused Eneh of working for a certain governorship aspirant in the state.

Obigwe who stated his view in a statement made availabe to journalists in Awka on Thursday warned against what he called ‘senseless blackmail’

He said, “Within a short space of 2 years in office more than 400km of road projects are nearing completion in Anambra.

“His ( Soludo’s) administration created almost 10,000 jobs in the education and health sectors; his administration offered free basic education to Anambra children from primary 1 to JSS3; his administration introduced free antenatal and free delivery services for Anambra women;his administration is currently building a befitting government house/ Governors lodge in a fast pace; his administration nipped the evil menace of unknown gunmen in the bud in Anambra State, etc.

“It’s only armchair critics who are picking crumbs from the tables that will see all the above mentioned achievements and be labouring in vain to cover it up.

“In Anambra, Governor Soludo good works in the 21 local government can be likened to a 9 months old pregnancy that cannot be covered with bare hands.

“He is the best and that is why Anambra people are saying that there is no vacancy in our state till 2030.”

Obigwe furthermaintained that those behind the senseless blackmail piece were beating around the bush and labouring in vain to stand the truth on its head, stating that they would not make any political gain from it.

He said it was senseless for anybody to be comparing Soludo with Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.

The APGA National Coordinator added, “As a matter of fact, Governor Soludo came to work for Ndi Anambra and he is doing exactly that. He is not into any competition with Governor Alex Otti that can be referred to as his best friend.

“The people in a position to assess Governor Soludo performance in Anambra State are Ndi Anambra and unbiased critics. As at today in Anambra, the people of the state are of the opinion that Governor Soludo has justified the confidence reposed in him by the electorate.

“His 2 years in office achievements as Anambra Governor is truly commendable. What the people of the State are saying is that if Governor Soludo 2 years can be like this that by the time he clocks 8 years in office , Anambra will turn to a reference point for good governance in Nigeria.

” I say it boldly without fear of contradiction that Governor Soludo is unarguably the best Governor in Nigeria as at today. He came prepared to turn things around for good in Anambra and the people of the state are seeing his works”
