The Chairman All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra state Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, over the weekend formally inaugurated APGA Local Government and Ward Executives of Ogbaru Local Government Area.

The chairman, who administered the Oath of Office and Allegiance on the executive members, charged them to be hardworking and more committed in the discharge of their duties for the progress of the party.

He further stressed the need for them to always carry every member along and work to ensure unity among them for the party to be victorious.

While welcoming the new members into the party, the party chairman expressed hope that more prominent politicians will in solidarity with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development strides across the state, defect to APGA.

He reminded them that from that day, they have equal rights with other members of the party, urging them not to hesitate reporting directly to him anyone that denigrates or disrespects them because they just joined the party.

Chief Obi-Okoye also disclosed that the party structure will be cascaded down from the ward to “Umunna” level to carry people along at the grassroots level and to ensure the impact of the government of “Onye aghana nwanne ya” is felt at that level.

“The essence of the new structure is also to cultivate a minimum of 50 members of each “Umunna,” who would be useful in election periods”, he said.

Obi-Okoye also charged the various Soludo Support Groups, who decorated him with their uniforms, to be steadfast in their pursuit of the party ideals while spreading the APGA gospel.

The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly and convener of Ogechukwukamma Political Family, whose members officially joined APGA at the event, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze commended Governor Soludo’s transformational leadership in the state and called on ndị Anambra to support him.

He charged the old and new party members to be disciplined, even as he flayed the situation where party members secretly filander with opposition parties and sponsoring attacks against Soludo’s government.

The Speaker revealed that he plans to hold a Town Hall meeting in Ogbaru Constituencies 1 and 2 soonest in order to reorganize the communities.

According to him, the meeting with Constituency 1 will hold in the evening because they are mostly traders, while that of Constituency 2 will hold in the morning.

Udeze called on Ndị Ogbaru to actively participate in every program initiated by the Soludo government, promising to support them financially in paying transport fares if the need arises.

Present at the inauguration were the National Chairman of APGA, who was represented by Hon. Amara Anazodo, House Member representing Ogbaru Constituency 1, Hon. Noble Igwe, Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Politics, Dr Alex Obiogbolu, Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol, Chief Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), House members, Chief Benson Nwawulu, Party Zonal Chairman in Anambra State and other party big-wigs.
